925 Ring Workshop

The 925 silver ring workshop is the perfect introduction to studio jewellery making. In this intimate small-group setting, you’ll design and craft your own sterling silver ring from start to finish, guided with care at every stage. The atmosphere is relaxed yet focused — a setting that allows you to settle into the rhythm of the craft. Along the way, you’ll learn basic fabrication methods including saw piercing and soldering, and finishing techniques such as texturing, stamping, and polishing. You’ll have the opportunity to personalise your ring through various finishing and decorative touches, leaving with a piece that’s entirely your own — plus a skill set you can carry into further studio lessons or your own craft practice.

Hoops Workshop

During this one-day workshop, you’ll be guided step by step through making a pair of sterling silver hoop earrings and a pair of sterling silver stud earrings. In this class you’ll learn the core jewellery-making skills — including soldering, annealing, saw piercing, and polishing, plus measurement tips and tricks, with stamping, texturing, and imprinting lace or patterns into metal also possible. Your hoops and studs can be fully customised in width, profile, size, texture, and finish.The day begins at 10am, with the morning session focused on measurement, annealing, and forming. We break for an hour at lunch to stretch and recharge before the second half of the day, when you’ll solder, file, and finish your hoops and studs with your chosen customisation.

You’ll be guided through techniques such as texturing tools, forming silver with a hammer, soldering, filing, and sanding. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with your own finished silver hoops and studs — plus a skill set you can carry into further studio lessons or your own craft practice.

Please note a minimum of three students is required for this workshop to proceed — if this isn’t met 72 hours before the scheduled start, we’ll contact you to arrange an alternative date.

Sand Casting Workshop

Discover the magic of sand casting and create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery in recycled silver. You’ll learn the whole process, from carving and casting through to finishing your completed piece. We’ll start by carving a simple band or signet ring in wax — a small pendant is also possible — discussing the technical considerations of sand casting along the way. The first half of the day is spent creating your wax form through traditional wax carving, then making a mould using delft clay. After lunch, we’ll pour the metal and learn how to file, sand, stamp, and polish your piece — including how to prepare the sand and mould correctly for a clean cast.

The jewellery can be made in brass, bronze, or silver. 10 grams of silver are included in the price, with additional silver available to purchase on the day if you have grander plans..

This class is limited to 6 students, so you’ll get clear, personal guidance on the best designs for casting, along with all the tips for successful results. I’ll take you through finishing your piece from raw to a high polish — invaluable if you’d like to go on and cast your own designs in future.
